Jarryd Rogers has been appointed Club Coach for the 2019 winter season. We are looking forward to his input throughout the season.
We are seeking expressions of interest for senior and junior coaches for the 2019 season. We are keen to run a tee ball program again on Saturday mornings and will be looking for a new person to continue the program that Ellen has run successfully over the past three seasons. We’ve had some interest across the board, but please get in touch if you are keen to assist across as all positions are vacant for now – Tee Ball, Rookie Ball, Under 13, 15, 17 and seniors A2, A3, A4, EE and EL.
Junior registration / come try baseball morning at Loyola Reserve Saturday 9th March AND Saturday 16th March: 10am – 12 noon. A flyer accompanies this email and is on out TeamApp page and will be on our website soon. Please ‘Like it’ and share it with your friends. Alternatively get them contact me via email especially if they can’t come on the dates (I know softball season doesn’t finish until the 23rd).
Senior pre season at Loyola on track to start Saturday 16th March 10am for hitting, with the season locked in to start for juniors AND seniors Saturday April 6th. Full season dates are on the Club TeamApp site under ‘NEWS’.
- Lendtribe (Give Back Home Loans) We are continuing to work with Peter Oates and the team. Note they have changed their name to Lendtribe. During 2018 we had three loans settled that benefited the club, bringing their support to the club to well over $15k over the past three years. Get in contact with Peter via email@example.com and let Ry know too so we can track their progress. This can be a friend, a neighbour or anyone else thinking about engaging a broker.
- DaVinci Pizza and Pasta Gallery will be on board again in 2019, so keep up the support!
- Tip Top Butchers in Bolton Street Eltham. Get behind the butchers that get behind us!
Clubrooms & Ground Report:
The sliding doors are being installed and windows are being put in place along with new brickwork at Loyola. See TeamApp and Facebook for photos. We won’t quite be in the rooms at the start of the season, but will be able to train at Loyola and are working with Banyule and the MWBL re game day contingencies.
Council has been re-shaping the area between home plate and the pitching mound for more grass cover and will be re-laying grass around second base and short stop this week – great timing to settle for the new season. We are also working with council re building a new bull-pen area parallel to the current batting tunnel and this should be ready for pre-season.
The plans for the new cage and enclosed cricket net area is with the costing department at Banyule with the aim for it to be submitted for their 2019/20 budget…fingers crossed for the 2020 season!
